2017 Masters Scholarships For US And International Students

Academic scholarships provide financial assistance in paying your way through university. However, all scholarships are not equal. Scholarship can be classified as fully or partially funded. When you are on full scholarship, your tuition fee and living expenses are completely covered, while a partial scholarship may cover just your tuition fee and you may have to take care of your personal expenses yourself.


Here is a list of academic institutions overseas that provide good Masters scholarship in the coming year, 2017.

Doc Nomads Joint Master Degree Scholarship for International Students, 2017-2019

Applications are invited for The”Doc Nomads” Joint Master Degree Scholarship in Documentary Film Directing fro 2017-2018 academic year. Students from all over the world are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
DOC NOMADS Erasmus Mundus Masters Course is aimed to students from all over the world with a BA degree in Film Studies, in Arts or in Media Communication studies.
Course Level: Scholarships are available to pursue Master degree programme.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded in Documentary Film Directing.
Scholarship Award: Students may receive the grant for a maximum of 12 months of the training. The grant amount is between EUR 200 and 450.

LLM Scholarship for Developing Countries at SOAS University of London in UK, 2017

The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at University of London and International Students House (ISH) are jointly  awarding a LLM Scholarship to the students from developing countries. SOAS, University of London is a public research university in London, England, and a constituent college of the University of London. Founded in 1916, it is regarded as one of the leading universities in Europe.
Course Level: Scholarship is available to pursue MA programme.
Study Subject: Scholarship is awarded for full-time LLM and Part-time programme is not eligible.
Scholarship Award: SOAS will cover the cost of tuition fees at the overseas rate and ISH will provide free accommodation. The scholarship also provides a small contribution in food vouchers at ISH.
Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship:
  • Must be domiciled in a developing country.
  • Possess a good honours degree, preferably first class, from a UK institution or overseas equivalent.
  • Have an unconditional offer of admission to pursue the full-time LLM at SOAS by the scholarship application deadline.  If your offer is conditional, please ensure you meet the conditions and receive an unconditional offer by the deadline.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirements: Applicants must possess a good honours degree, preferably first class, from a UK institution or overseas equivalent.
English language Requirements: Applicants must meet the English language condition of their offer of admission to study at SOAS as soon as possible but no later than 1 June 2017.  If your offer is conditional on English, please arrange your English test and ensure you meet the English requirements as soon as possible.
How to Apply: You must follow two steps:
  • STEP 1:  Apply for your programme
  • Applicants must submit a complete on-line application for admission.
  • Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission to the full-time LLM at SOAS by the scholarship application deadline. A complete application for admission includes transcripts, an explanation of the grading system for any degrees obtained outside of the UK, two references, CV and a personal statement. The panel will be considering your scholarship application together with your online application for admission.  Please note that complete application for admission can take up to 4 weeks to be considered by the Department, although this duration can vary depending on the time of year.  You should be prepared to wait up to 6 weeks in busy periods. It is recommended to apply for the programme about six weeks BEFORE the scholarship deadline (that is, by 11 January 2017).
  • STEP 2:  Apply for the scholarship by 17:00 (UK Local time) on 22 February 2017
  • You must apply for this scholarship via the on-line scholarship application form, which will be available  on 24 January 2017.
Application Deadline: Scholarship application deadline is February 22, 2017.

SHS International Excellence Scholarships at City, University of London in UK, 2017

The City, University of London is offering a number of SHS International Excellence Scholarships of £1000, £2000 or £3000 to international students applying for a place on one of MSc programmes starting in September 2017 and January 2018.
The School of Health Sciences at City, University of London, is a world-leading centre for healthcare education and applied healthcare research.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing MSc programme.
Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded within the School of Health Sciences.
Scholarship Award: Scholarship is offering a number of SHS International Excellence Scholarships of £1000, £2000 or £3000.
Scholarship can be taken in the UK
Eligibility: The scholarships will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate academic and clinical and/or professional excellence. Applicants must have an offer of a full-time place and be studying for the full MSc on one of SHS’s postgraduate programmes (those applying for the PG Cert or PG Diploma will unfortunately not be eligible). Please note students cannot be in receipt of more than one scholarship/bursary.
Nationality: International students can apply for these scholarships.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: All of MSc programmes require a good Bachelor’s degree. This usually means a UK 2.1 or above, or the equivalent from an overseas institution. Some MSc programmes require previous study in particular subjects – you can find out more on the individual course pages.
English Language Requirement: It is essential that all students have an excellent command of English as we welcome students from around 100 different nations to study with us here at Cass. In order to participate fully in the collaborative learning process all students who have not previously studied in English must sit an IELTS exam.

How to Apply: To apply, please complete the official scholarships form, including a statement of no more than 500 words. This statement will be in addition to the personal statement used for the programme application and should focus on why you believe you should be awarded this scholarship.
You could include references to projects or initiatives that you have undertaken in which you have exceeded or work that you have done that have improved practice or how this scholarship could help you advance practice in your chosen area. Please email your completed application form to Postgraduate Administration team via email stating your full name and student number together with the full name of the course for which you have registered.
Application Deadline: The application deadline is March 31, 2017.
