December 16 is the WORST date to celebrate your birthday, according to survey

According to researchers, being born on the date means that people are more likely to cancel your celebration plans

Those who have their birthdays on December 16 have the WORST date to celebrate their big day, according to a new survey.
According to researchers, being born on the date means that people are more likely to cancel your celebration plans because it’s so close to Christmas and the weather is usually awful.
You are also less likely to receive a gift as people are budgeting for December 25.
The data was calculated using a new app launched by flower giants Interflora today, which takes into account how “good” your birthday is, based on the proximity to pay day, time of year and average weather.

While those born on December 16 officially have the worst birthday, the app says that those who celebrate in November, January and the rest of December also get a raw deal.
January birthdays are apparently the most likely to be forgotten.
Overall, 16% of people born in December said they were unhappy with their date of birth and more than a quarter said their big day tends to be overlooked because of Christmas.
It has been revealed that lucky people born on July 28, such as singers Cher Lloyd and Soulja Boy, have the best birthday.
This is due, in part, to the good weather and closeness to payday.
Interflora’s survey of 500 people found that people living in Longford, Laois and Kerry are the biggest cheapskates when it comes to presents with 33%, 20% and 18.8% respectively spending less than €10 on a present.
Generous people from Westmeath are the most likely to fork out more than €100 on a present.
60% of people from Laois, almost half of those surveyed from Kildare and 44% of Galwegians have had pals ditch their birthday celebrations.
Other findings included that those born in August tend to be top earners compared to any other month.
Meanwhile, people with December birthdays are least likely to reach higher pay scales.
In an increasingly technological society, 42% of people said they wish people a happy birthday using Facebook, instead of sending them an old-fashioned card.
A third of people also admitted that they only remember birthdays because Facebook reminds them.
Bethany Day, Brand Manager for Interflora, said: “At Interflora, we’re committed to helping people celebrate life’s most important occasions and we wanted to highlight the plight of those whose birthdays are often overshadowed by the season’s festivities.
“We’ve created our rate your birthday app as a fun way of highlighting those ‘forgotten’ birthdays and to help people make the most of their special day, no matter where in the year it falls.”
